PGCIL Diploma Trainee Syllabus 2019: POWERGRID released official notification for the post of Diploma Trainee (Electrical/Civil). Interested candidates can apply online from 26.11.2019 to 16.12.2019. POWERGRID, the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India, one of the largest Transmission Utilities in the World and a “Maharatna” Enterprise of Govt. of India is engaged in power transmission business with the mandate for planning, co-ordination, supervision and control over complete inter-state transmission system.

PGCIL Diploma Trainee Selection Process:
1. Selection procedure: Only Written Test/Computer Based Test shall be conducted.
2. Type of Written Test: The Written Test shall be of Objective type (each question shall have four options) of two hours duration consisting of two parts –
(a) Part-I consists of Technical Knowledge Test/Professional Knowledge Test (TKT/PKT) with 120
questions having specific questions from respective discipline.
(b) Part-II consists of Aptitude Test (AT) with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension,
quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency & interpretation, numerical ability etc.
All questions would be MCQ type with 4 options and carry equal weightage (1 mark each). Wrong &
multiple answers would result in negative marks of ¼. Candidates shall have the option for appearing in the Written Test in Hindi or English.
PGCIL Diploma Trainee Exam Centres:
The Computer Based Test shall be held at the following Test Centres: Delhi, Jaipur (Rajasthan), Dehradun (Uttarakhand)

Reasoning Ability : Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.
General Knowledge : History, Culture, Geography, Economics, Indian Constitution, Sports, Literature, Science, Specific knowledge about Education, Culture and Social Custom of Uttar Pradesh, Revenue, Police and General Administration System in Uttar Pradesh, Protection of Women and Children, Basics/Fundamental of Information & Communication Technology, Environmental Studies.
General English : Standard of questions will be metric education. Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage.
Numerical Aptitude : Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
