NIV Walkin Interview 2019: National Institute of Virology (NIV) has released advertisement for the Technical Officer and Other Posts. The eligible candidates can appear for walk in interview on 04 September 2019. The National Institute of Virology, Pune is an Indian virology research institute, and one of the Translational science cells part of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It was previously known as ‘Virus Research Center’ and was founded in collaboration with the Rockefeller Foundation. It has been designated as a WHO H5 reference Laboratory for SE Asia region. The Virus Research Center (VRC), Pune came into existence in 1952 under the joint auspices of the ICMR and the Rockefeller Foundation, as a part of the global programme of investigations on the arthropod-borne group of viruses. In view of its expanded scope and activities, the VRC was redesignated as the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in 1978.NIV Walkin Interview 2019

Eligibility Criteria for Technical Officer and Other Job

Educational Qualification:

  • Project Scientist-C (Non-Medical): First Class Master’s Degree in Life Sciences with Two Years experience OR Second Class Master’s Degree with Ph.D. Doctorate Degree in Life Sciences (Biochemistry / Microbiology /Biotechnology / Virology), Additional Post Doctoral Research/teaching experience in relevant subjects.
  • Project Scientist-B (Non-Medical): First Class Master’s Degree in Life Sciences with Two Years experience OR Second Class Master’s Degree with Ph.D. Doctorate Degree in Life Sciences (Biochemistry / Microbiology /Biotechnology / Virology), Additional Post Doctoral Research/teaching experience in relevant subjects.
  • Project Junior Research Fellow: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any of the following: a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC, NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE. b) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, llT, llSc, llSER, etc. Research work experience in the areas of immunology, Molecular Biology, Animal Tissue culture, Virology, flow cytometry, handling infectious clinical samples.
  • Project Senior Research Fellow: Qualification prescribed for JRF with two years of research experience. Research work experience in the area of immunology/Molecular Biology, flow cytometry, handling of clinical samples.
  • Project Research Associate – I: Ph.D. in any branch of Science with a) proven research experience in Bioinformatics in terms of journal publications or b) Bioinformatics subjects passed in Graduation or Post Graduation degrees. Knowledge of programming in scripting language like PERL, PHP, MySQL, etc.
  • Project Senior Research Fellow (Bioinformatics): Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics or B.E./B.Tech. (GATE qualified) Degree in related subject with two years of research experience. OR Master’s Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology/Biophysics/Microbiology Zoology etc) with NET qualification and two years of research experience. (i) Knowledge of computational tools for gene expression analysis, molecular interaction networks, molecular structure modeling, drug docking etc. (ii) Experience in laboratory work and handling molecular biology tools.
  • Project Computer Programmer: Master’s degree in Computer Application/information Technology/Computer Science OR 8.E., B.Tech in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/information Technology. Working experience of data analysis in research project.
  • Project Data Entry Operator – Grade-B: (1) 12th pass in Science stream and (2) DOEACC -‘A’ level and/or 02 years experience in EDP work in Government, Autonomous, PSU or any other recognized organization. A speed test of not less than 15000 key depressions per hour through speed test on computer. B.Sc. Computer, Working experience in research project
  • Project Data Entry Operator – Grade-A: 12th pass and A speed test of not less than 15000 key depressions per hour through speed test on computer. Graduate, Working experience in research project
  • Project Staff Nurse: Diploma in Nursing OR Midwifery (GNM) or equivalent and registered Nurse or ANM with State Nursing Council. 1. B. Sc. Nursing, 2. Work experience in blood draw, 3. To keep clinical record, 4. Experience in collection of oropharyngeal/nasal swabs
  • Project Technical Officer: Graduate (three years degree) in Life Science with five years work experience OR Master’s Degree in the above subject. 1. Laboratory experience in Molecular Biology/Tissue culture techniques/Bio-informatics, Virological techniques, Serology, handling infectious agents and fieldwork. Willingness to work in field. 2. Knowledge of computer applications and data management.
  • Project Technical Assistant (Engineering Support): Diploma/ Degree in Electrical/ Electronics / Mechanical engineering with three years work experience. Experience in maintenance of Electrical Panels/Circuits, Instrumentation, Knowledge of computer applications and data management.
  • Project Technical Assistant: Graduate (three years degree) in Life Science with three years work experience OR Master’s Degree in the above subject. 1. Laboratory experience in Molecular Biology/Tissue culture techniques/Bio-informatics, Virological techniques, Serology, handling infectious agents and fieldwork. 2. Knowledge of computer applications and data management.
  • Project Technician – lll: (1) 12th pass in Science subjects and (2) Two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or related subject or One year DMLT plus one year experience or Two years field/laboratory experience*. * B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years experience. (1) B.Sc. Microbiology/ Biotechnology/MLT (2) Work experience in diagnostic laboratory/Cell culture/ELISA/PCR/ sequencing (3) Knowledge of computer application/ report preparation.
