You are required to have a proper test-taking strategy so that you can utilize the time limit in an efficient manner.There is Sectional Time Limit of 20 Minutes for each section in SBI Clerk Prelims Exam 2018. There is no sectional cutoff in the prelims exam. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer marked by the candidate.

Time management is the key to success. Manage your time during exam very efficiently and smartly. It is important to decide the time beforehand which you are going to spend on a particular question.
Especially in Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability section, you must keep track of time properly. You must decide the time you are going to spend on each question.
Understand that you need not solve tricky questions. Instead of this, make the most of the easy questions.
Selecting the right questions in the exam is one important factor that leads to selection.
You will have just 20 minutes to attempt a section, this is very important to not stuck into any question.
If a question is taking more than the time it should usually take then do not challenge yourself for the question. There is equal marking for every question in Prelims Exam.
If you are not able to solve any question within a standard time, you should better leave it and move on to the next question.
Do not panic if you find any new pattern question, just attempt questions which you can. If it is new then it’s new for everyone. Solve it step by step by applying basic concepts of the topic.
Read the instructions (highly recommended) and the questions very carefully.
Section Wise Strategy:
It is advisable to start Reasoning section with the topics (Inequality, Syllogism, Series, Miscellaneous Questions, Coding-Decoding). After you are done with attempting these questions, you can start attempting puzzles and seating arrangement questions. Because these questions take much time in comparison to other questions. Also, There is no surety of cracking the puzzle/seating arrangement even after spending 10-15 minutes on it. So, follow a smart strategy.
It is advisable to start Quant section with the topics (Simplification, Number Series, DI). After you are done with attempting these questions, you can start attempting miscellaneous questions.
It is advisable to start English section with the topics (Spotting Error, Fill in the blanks, Cloze test, Antonyms/Synonyms from RC). If the time allows then you can move to the para jumble and reading comprehension questions.
Take a nap before the exam as it improves memory recall and the ability to concentrate. To make the best use of your knowledge, you should try to get at least 8 hours of sleep before the exam. It is important for the students to have a positive mindset. So avoid anything that can stress you out, keep calm and stay focused.
